MBCT EXPLAINED
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy started as a therapy aimed at reducing stress Mindfulness was first used therapeutically by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre in the late 1970s.
The success of his program was revolutionary and signalled the beginning of a whole new wave of therapeutic support for depression, anxiety, stress and low mood.
THE POWER OF MBCT
MBCT is now used in workplaces across the world. The combination of stress and anxiety reduction has lead to it becoming one of the most popular and well respected employee wellbeing interventions available. Professor Richard Davidson's Ted Talk on Mindfulness is a great primer in understanding the effect of mindfulness on the brain.
